MUMBAI: We have seen enough of saas–bahu sagas and the fights and friction between a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law.
While we recently wrote about how the families in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah might be living a happier life without the in-laws, Zee TV brings a one-off show titled Guddan, which narrates the light-hearted story of a 20-year-old girl who, having fumbled through most of her life, finds herself becoming India’s youngest mother-in-law to three older daughters-in-law by a series of circumstances.
YES!
The show depicts a role reversal wherein the daughter-in-laws set off to get their 40-year-old father-in-law remarried and find a suitable bride in Guddan. While there are many shows that have the mother-in-law torturing the daughter-in-law and the boy being sandwiched between the ladies, Shoonya Square brings a show with a new vision, where it is not necessary that maturity comes only with age. Maturity is when you carry responsibility by sensibly keeping in mind the situations and the effects they can have on you and the people around you.
And Guddan wonderfully captures this thought.
