Fire tablets started as budget tablets with their initial release many moons ago. The 2024 Fire HD 8 is the latest iteration of their mid-tier tablet, and you can find it for 31% off right now. If you’re looking for a budget tablet to do some streaming or social media doomscrolling, the 64GB Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet is $89.99 (originally $129.99), a great value for your money. If you want the experience with no ads on the lock screen, that version is $104.99 (originally $144.99).
The previous Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet came out in 2022, with this latest version adding two extra GBs of RAM for a total of 4GB. The Fire HD 8 gets its name from the 8-inch screen display with 1,280 by 800 pixels; it also has a Hexa-core 2.0 GHz processor, about 13 hours of battery life, a brighter screen than the older version, and a 64GB storage capacity with the possibility to expand it to 1TB with a separate purchase. The front camera is the same 2MP with 720p HD video recording, but the rear camera is now a 5MP lens with 1080p HD video recording.
The high-definition touch screen is not amazing by any means, but for an $89.99 tablet, you’ll get great value for your money if you’re just looking for something you can carry around to watch your shows or browse online. Keep in mind that since it is a Fire tablet, you’ll be limited to apps within Amazon’s own app store unless you choose to download the Google Play Store.
