The world stands still when the smouldering Kashmera Shah appears onscreen, and rightly so!
Well, the sultry actress is not just about her looks because she recently won us over with her powerful role of Rakshasi Tadaka on Star Plus’ Siya Ke Ram.
In a freewheeling chat with Tellychakkar.com, the actress shared tidbits about playing the author-backed character on TV…
“This is my maiden venture in fiction space, and I am very happy with my role. When the character was narrated to me, I knew that it was made for me. From costume to makeup to action sequences, everything was worth it. I have never done fiction show before, but I couldn’t refuse this role,” said the actress.
How was it shooting for this show?
“When I started shooting, Nikhil (Sinha) called my body double for the action sequence. But I insisted on performing all the scenes on my own. Whatever action sequences you have seen onscreen are performed by me. I wish the role had a longer duration though…as I enjoyed shooting for it. In fact, the role of Tadaka suits my personality,” she said.
You are known for your bold avatar…what attracted you to this show?
The actress candidly answered, “I have thoroughly followed Ramayan and Mahabharat. Moreover, I have always wanted to be a part of mythological shows. While shooting for Siya Ke Ram, I thought I was shooting for a film.”
So now that you have entered the fiction space, what kind of roles do you wish to take up in the future?
“Well, I am very choosy when it comes to work. I can’t do anything or everything on TV. I don’t work for money. What matters to me is a good role. If I am offered such strong roles in the future, I would definitely consider it,” concluded the actress.
All the best, Kashmera!
