He came into limelight through his portrayal of Lord Vishnu and Lord Krishna in “Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev” and “Mahabharat”. However, actor Sourabh Raaj Jain says he doesn’t like to categorise his work as “fiction or mythology”.
“So far I have done only three mythological shows ‘Jai Shri Krishna’, ‘Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev’ and ‘Mahabharat’. Other than that, all have been fiction like ‘Remix’, ‘Meet Mila De Rabba’ and ‘Uttaran’. I don’t categorise my work as fiction or mythology. If it suits my creative sensibilities I take it,” Sourabh, who is currently hosting the show “Arth” on 92.7 BIG FM, told IANS.
“People have given me lot of love for my work and that only makes me work harder and encourages me to work harder,” Sourabh added.
This is the first time Sourabh has turned radio jockey for a show.
“It’s a new experience for me and I feel very fortunate to get this opportunity. Being an actor we have to train ourselves both for our vocals and facial expressions, but in radio one has to express only through voice and this is very exciting for me, everyday I am learning something new,” he said.
Asked about the growing number of mythological shows on TV, Sourabh said: “Definitely, there is an audience who likes mythological shows and hence the growth. I feel doing mythological shows takes equal focus and hard work like others.”
On TV, Sourabh is seen as the host of new show “Bhakton Ki Bhakti Mein Shakti”.
Talking about the show, he said: “It’s a show which makes you believe in believing. I am a believer and saw no reason to not to take it.
