Sony MIX, which has been presenting viewers with some of the best music, is all set to wow us with the aptly named, WOW Weekends. On the occasion of such an innovative initiative, we chatted up Neeraj Vyas, Sr. EVP & Business Head, Sony MAX.
Speaking about the channel, Neeraj said, “MIX is not just a music channel, but is also connected to the cause of music. We have always tried to dish out variety of programmes to our audiences. Even with our latest offering WOW Weekends, we are trying to present something new to our viewers. The entire programme will be churned out throughout the day. Also, Aparashakti has done a great job.”
Neeraj added, “Our channel might not top the charts, but viewers have accepted the quality of songs that we present. We try to deliver programmes keeping in mind the taste of the viewers. All of our programmes are well packed and has been proved to be something new in the realm of music.”
So, how is Aparashakti’s role going to be different from conventional VJs? “Well, he will not anchor one particular show. Rather he will be there throughout the day, presenting the entire content in a much serious manner,” he said.
When we quizzed him about the declining popularity of Indi-pop music, he quickly replied, “I believe that Indi-pop music is gradually emerging and will always co-exist with Bollywood music. And this genre will never fade away.”
All the best!
