Jodha Akbar Watch Online is an Indian historical drama currently airing on Zee TV. The series premiered on 18 June 2013 and airs Monday to Friday at 08:00pm. The show is produced by Ekta Kapoor of Balaji Telefilms. It stars Rajat Tokas and Paridhi Sharma in lead roles.
Jodha Akbar is an epic drama about a sixteenth century story of the political marriage of convenience between a Mughal emperor Abu’l-Fath Jalal ud-din Muhammad Akbar and a Rajput princess Mariam-uz-Zamani Jodha Bai. The show focuses on how their political marriage brings love between them to an extent that it changed the fate of India. This period drama also portrays the wars of that time along with the relations between the Mughals and the Rajputs. The drama also focuses on the functioning of the queens, the courts, courtesans, the ministers and their influence on the love story of Jalal ud-din Muhammad Akbar and Mariam-uz-Zamani|Jodha Bai. The show also highlights on how Mughal emperor Jalal ud-din Muhammad acquires the title of Akbar from the people.
Many of the events portrayed in the series are based on real events. Certain Rajput groups claimed Jodha was married to Akbar’s son, Jahangir, not Akbar; whereas certain reports stated that Jodha and Akbar were not married. They protested against the show along with Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap, another historical series that aired on Sony TV
Rajat Tokas (born in Munirka, Delhi) is an Indian television actor. Tokas started his career with television show Bongo as Ashu. Then he played the role of Tantya (Sai Baba’s brother) in Sai Baba. He played the role of young Prithviraj Chauhan in Dharti Ka Veer Yodha Prithviraj Chauhan on Star Plus. Since June 2013 he is playing the lead role of Jalaluddin Muhammad Akbar in Jodha Akbar. He studied in the Hope Hall Foundation School, R. K. Puram, Delhi.
Paridhi Sharma is an Indian television actress. She plays the lead character of Rajkumari Jodha Bai in the television serial Jodha Akbar. She began her acting career in 2010 with the television serial Tere Mere Sapne. Later, she appeared in the serial Ruk Jaana Nahin. Ekta Kapoor is said to have gone through as many as 7000 audition entries in the course of a nationwide hunt spanning 8 months before she gave her final nod of approval to Sharma to play Jodha in her historical drama Jodha Akbar. Sharma was born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. She received a degree in Business Management from Prestige Institute of Management and Research Indore, and finished her MBA from Pune
Lavina Tandon is an Indian television actress. Tandon made her acting debut in 2003, as a child artist in Aruna Irani’s television series Tum Bin Jaaoon Kahaan. In 2005, she played the role of Charlotte in Hero – Bhakti Hi Shakti Hai. In 2006, she played the role of Chamki in the TV series, Dharti Ka Veer Yodha Prithviraj Chauhan.In May of 2013, it was reported that she had been cast to play the role of Anurag Sharma’s wife in Ekta Kapoor’s yet-to-be released TV series, Mera Tera Rishta Purana. In July of 2013, Lavina replaced Smilie Suri in the fictional historical show, Jodha Akbar, due to the latter’s health issues and travelling problems. In Jodha Akbar, she plays the role of the Mughal Empress Ruqaiya Sultan Begum, the first wife and chief consort of Emperor Akbar, opposite her Prithviraj Chauhan co-star, Rajat Tokas.
