WWE Main Event is a professional wrestling television program produced by WWE that airs on the Ion Television network and streams on Hulu Plus in the United States. The show (which debuted October 3, 2012) features WWE wrestlers and complements WWE’s primary programs Raw and SmackDown. WWE and ION Television today announced a new weekly one-hour original series airing on Wednesday nights at 8/7C. “WWE Main Event” will debut on October 3, 2012, and feature WWE Superstars and Divas from the rosters of “Monday Night Raw” and “Friday Night SmackDown”. The new show will be available in 100 million U.S. television households on ION Television, a top-rated general entertainment network that features a broad mix of critically acclaimed series, movies and original programming. “WWE Main Event” will feature in-ring action and fit seamlessly in storylines from Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown, making Wednesday night appointment viewing for fans. The new series will offer a big arena experience with live audiences like current WWE weekly programs. WWE is an American-based professional wrestling promotion based in Stamford, Connecticut. WWE personnel consists of professional wrestlers, managers, play-by-play and color commentators, ring announcers, interviewers, referees, trainers, producers, script writers and various other positions. Executives and board members are also listed.WWE contracts typically range from developmental contracts to multi-year deals.[2] Most personnel are independent contractors. Personnel on the main roster appear on Raw, SmackDown, Main Event, and Superstars (WWE’s primary weekly television programming), on pay-per-views and at live events.Personnel from WWE’s developmental territory (WWE NXT) appear on the television series of the same name which airs online in the U.S. and on TV in select countries. Personnel on the main roster will also occasionally wrestle in WWE NXT. Personnel are organized below by their role in WWE. Their ring name is on the left and their real name is on the right. If someone is inactive for any reason, due to injury, suspension, not appearing in more than 30 days or otherwise, that information is noted. WWE refers to its male performers as “Superstars” and its female performers as “Divas”. The term “Superstars” is also occasionally used to refer to all WWE performers, regardless of gender. The show is taped on Tuesday evenings, prior to the SmackDown taping. WWE commentator Tom Phillips and The Miz are the broadcast team, and Tony Chimel is the ring announcer. It uses the same HD set and the all-white ring ropes as all other WWE programming (though for the month of October 2012 and October 2013, the middle rope was pink, to promote WWE and Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s breast cancer awareness campaign). From October 3, 2012 to January 22, 2014, “Diamond Eyes (Boom-Lay Boom-Lay Boom)” by Shinedown served as the official theme for Main Event. Since January 29, 2014, “On My Own” by CFO$ now serves as the theme song.
